MRDM batch 2018 under the supervision of Assoc.Prof. Dr Somsak Srisontisuk visiting Doi Tung Royal Villa, Chiang Rai province on 7th November 2018. It is aiming to fulfill Seminar on Field Trip Study’s requirement. Besides Doi Tung Royal Villa, MRDM student also visit the Mae Fah Luang garden and The Hall of Inspiration that located in the same place.
Doi Tong Royal Villa is a former residence of HRH Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother. It is also the basis for his work with the Doi Tong Development Project, which he has set up to protect the forests and enhance the livelihoods of indigenous peoples who have relied on cultivation and burning forests, opium cultivation, trafficking and drugs.
As enter the villa about few meters from the building, MRDM student receive a receptionist who gives jeans and pants for those who are not wearing proper cloth. It is caused by to enter the Royal Villa, everyone supposes to dress modestly.
Along the way from the gate to the Royal villa, people will be spoiled by the beautiful flowers surrounding the villa over 10 hectares. Millions of flowers from anywhere together create a beauty, seems like a paradise on earth.
After reach the villa, the staff will give an audio to detailing each part of the villa. The audio available both in Thai and English. People just need to press the number where they are spot, and the audio will explain everything. There are many spots inside the villa start from living room, kitchen, balcony and the princess’s bedroom. Everyone looks enjoy in exploring the beautiful of Royal Villa.
